Nestled inside a hilltop meadow in the heart of the Catskills, this oasis from the bustling city was itching for an expansive four-season porch.
The covered sunroom that connects to the existing living room, features large expansive windows that wrap the entire structure, fire features, and built-in storage benches. From there, you can walk out onto the concrete deck for the soft piney breeze and make your way down to the lower patio.
Much like many Americans, our clients in Jewett put the needs of their pets up there with their own. From the very first design meeting they introduced the idea of a catico: a place where their beloved cats can enjoy the outdoors with the security of the indoors. On the opppsite side of the house, we also designed a dog run secured by fences and gates. Bears are common up here in the Catskills so they wanted to make sure their pets were safe too!
