House of the Month: Why Not? Guest Cabin

Hoping to enhance their guest’s experience at their country mountain house, this client wanted a guest cabin that seamlessly complimented the main house.
The cabin features a two car garage with plenty of storage for year-round sports, guest bedrooms with ensuites, a kitchen, home gym, golf simulator, sauna, and a stargazing tower. Each level is easily accessible to the outdoors, where guests can enjoy the sloping terraced garden.
In order to receive sunlight throughout the cold winter days, we oriented the cabin southward, picking up distant mountain ranges.

To connect with the main house, we designed a two story covered walkway. It features a stone archway allowing food trucks to pass under to accommodate for large family gatherings.
